Puzzle Fundraiser

Gigi is a precious little girl who is waiting in an orphanage over in Europe for her family to come and get her. All the documents have been completed, as well as the first visit, and now her family is anxiously awaiting the date for her "gotcha day" While much of the "work" has already been done, there are still costs that need to be covered. To try and help cover those costs, I've had this picture made into a special puzzle just for Gigi and her new family. With this puzzle (and God's help!), I hope to be able to aid the Stevens family with the adoption costs. Here's how it works. Before I can put the puzzle together, each piece must be sponsored. I'm asking that each piece be sponsored for $10. You can sponsor either by using the Chipin button under Gigi's picture or by sending a check to Reece's Rainbow (address at end of the post)Both ways are tax deductible. If you send a check, please let me know via email (vsjoy106@yahoo.com) so that I can add your piece to the puzzle. Each sponsor's name will be written down and when the puzzle is finished, I will give it to the Steven's family along with the names of you who helped =)

More important than sponsoring Gigi with our money is aiding her with our prayers. Please take time to pray for her and the Stevens family.

Make checks payable to:

First Travel Date!

Gigi's family finally has their first travel date - October 21st. Praise the Lord! They cannot wait to get over there and see their precious little girl. Please be praying that they will be able to bring her home soon. To see more information about her, check out their website: http://stevensadoption.wordpress.com/

While they have been able to raise some of their adoption funds, they still have many expenses that need to be covered. Would you pray about what you can do to help this family bring this precious girl home? Only $10 will sponsor a piece of my puzzle and go directly to the Steven's adoption fund.

You can sponsor either by using the Chipin button under Gigi's picture or by sending a check to Reece's Rainbow (address at end of the post)Both ways are tax deductible. If you send a check, please let me know via email (dustwriters@gmail.com) so that I can add your piece to the puzzle. Each sponsor's name will be written down and when the puzzle is finished, I will give it to the Steven's family along with the names of you who helped =)

Gigi got hearing aids!

Here's what her family posted on their blog

We got an updated medical report for Gigi!! While it is all medical jargon, and we would much prefer some video and a picture she colored (though I am not sure she colors- she does not write with a pencil we know), it is SOMETHING. And during this process sometimes something is all you need to keep you going and something that lets you know your child is ok. Gigi had some episodes over the last few months that caused some concern and she was hospitalized, which is heartbreaking that we are finding this out months later since it is kind of a big deal when your little girl is in the hospital! However, her hospital visit has turned out to be such a blessing!! While she was there, she was seen by an ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat doctor) and they established a diagnosis for her deafness: “bilateral neurosensory loss of hearing.” The doctor then ordered her hearing aids – yes you are reading correctly, Gigi got hearing aids!!! We were looking forward to the day that we, her parents, would take her to the doctor and get a diagnosis for her deafness and be there, if it was possible, when she first heard a voice and that it would be ours and sweet words of love from her family that would be pouring into her ears…as we are obviously disappointed that it didn’t work out that way, we know that God’s plan is bigger and better than ours, and we accept it fully! We will be with Gigi for plenty of firsts, and maybe it is good that her caretakers there are getting to experience it, it could lead to help for another child in the future!

Puzzle Fundraiser

I've had this picture made into a special puzzle just for Gigi and her new family. I added Ps.139:13-16 "I will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made...my soul knows it very well." That last phrase really stood out to me. I couldn't help wondering "Can Gigi say that? Can she say that her soul knows of God's great works? Does she know that God made her?" It became the crux of my prayers - that she would one day be able to claim those verses as her own.

With this puzzle (and God's help!), I hope to be able to aid the Stevens family with the adoption costs. Here's how it works. Before I can put the puzzle together, each piece must be sponsored. Will you help?

Gigi is a precious little five year old girl with a heart, emotions, and needs just like any other five year old girl - well maybe not exactly like any other five year old. She does have a few additional needs. One being her deafness. Gigi is 100% deaf and has had very little formal intervention or help in teaching her signs. Can you imagine being five and virtually unable to communicate with those around you? Assuming, that is, that any of those around you even care to try to communicate. She also has the need for a family. One who will love her and help her to excel. Someone who will teach her and be there for her when she needs them. But her greatest need is to know the Lord. I can only imagine that this deaf, orphaned girl has very little knowledge of the God who created and loves her.

My heart broke when I first saw her picture. Since I was unable to be the one to adopt her I became her prayer warrior and began praying every day that God would send her a family that would point her to Him.
Praise God He answered my prayers and has sent her a family who loves Him and her as well. The Stevens have three of their own children, the oldest girl being close to Gigi's age. They are ready to pour out love into her heart. Not just their love, but God's love. They are prepared to help her learn sign language and teach her about the God who created her so wonderfully.

Once I knew that she had a family, I began praying about how I could help them. I can't help with their home study or their dossier, but I can help them raise support. Prayer support, most of all, but also financial support. Adoption is very costly. If I could, I would pay the way for them, but I can't. And most likely you can't either. But if we all work together, then we can prove to be a blessing to them and to Gigi. We can have the privilege of being a part of a wonderful work. That's what this blog is all about. It's about helping the Stevens family bring Gigi home through our prayers and financial support.
